This is a weekend gathering of friends for music, food, and connection. The setting is a civil war era home in a small Victorian town in central Pennsylvania.
We'll do all the dancing in the basement, and spread out in the three stories above for everything else. We want to combine the befores, durings and afters, like a festival, but in the comfortable and intimate setting of a historic home.
Vibe is: Nowadays Sunday morning, and they're serving bagels like before, but when it comes time to leave you're already home, and home is enchanted by affable spirit types we beckoned with our communal dancing.
We're going to eat really well. All the food will be provided by our friend & gourmand Fergus, who runs his own catering business. Check them out here.
A grand 1868 Victorian home in Bellefonte, PA, the "Victorian Jewel" of Pennsylvania. See the gallery for shots of the house. This is private residence; I personally live here with 3 others. I'll disclose the actual home address closer to the party.
This party is 4 hours from NYC! I'll be working to coordinate car pooling, and part of your ticket cost will go to reimbursing drivers for gas.
While there are a number of beds and sofas throughout the house, plan to treat this like indoor camping, and expect to sleep on the floor. Please bring a sleeping pad, blanket and pillow, and reach out if you're unable to. There's also spots for 4-5 tents in the backyard if you want to camp.
Unfortunately it will be difficult and expensive to find a local place to stay outside the house. It's a home game for Penn State football that weekend (10 miles from house) and people travel from all over.
